The Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi’s motorcade had been carried by a helicopter when it crashed. Reports from the media make this statement. The Iranian president’s motorcade had apparently been transported by a helicopter when it crashed in the Iranian region of Azerbaijan. It is now unclear what caused the plane to crash and make a harsh landing. At the incident site, rescue and relief efforts are underway at the moment. Regarding the incident, not much information has been gathered. Iranian Finance Minister Aamir Abdolhian is reportedly in the convoy’s helicopter along with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. Two of the three helicopters in the Iranian President’s motorcade, according to Iranian media, have successfully landed down at their destination.
The accident apparently happened as a result of the pilot lost control of the helicopter. For rescue operations, 16 teams have been sent out. However, rescue attempts are having challenges because to the fog and the rugged landscape. The helicopter hasn’t been found even after the event for several hours. There is no information about any injuries or fatalities from the crash. Ebrahim Raisi, the 63-year-old president of Iran, was traveling to East Azerbaijan. Meanwhile, the awful event happened close to Jolfa, the border city of Azerbaijan, which is 600 kilometers from Tehran, the capital of Iran. Early on Sunday, he was scheduled to officially open a dam beside President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan.
This is the third dam on the Aras River constructed by the two nations. The presidential convoy included the province governor of East Azerbaijan.
Hardliner Ibrahim Raisi was once in charge of the nation’s courts. Since he is thought to be close to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, he may succeed the 85-year-old leader in the event of his demise or resignation, according to some spectators.
