Rahul Gandhi said that no OBC or ST/SC representatives were invited to the main occasion.
New Delhi : Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Ram Temple dedication ceremony last month, naming Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan and his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Addressing a crowd when his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra arrived in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj, Rahul Gandhi said that the nation’s leaders were barred from attending the temple ceremony, but Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were present.”
Rahul Gandhi alleged that no OBC or ST/SC representatives were invited to the main occasion.
“Have you seen the ‘Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha’?” Did you notice any OBC or ST/SC faces? It was attended by Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Bachchan, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but we didn’t see the people who genuinely govern the country. “These people want to make sure that you never have control over the country.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat presided at the consecration ceremony for the Ram Temple. It was attended by thousands of celebrities, politicians, and dignitaries. However, the opposition boycotted the event, arguing that the BJP was attempting to score political points.
Rahul Gandhi’s yatra arrived at the old city at 4 p.m. today. Gandhi was accompanied by UP Congress President Ajay Rai and other prominent leaders.
Gandhi will travel to Amethi, his former constituency, on Monday. Gandhi had lost his pocket borough to the BJP’s Smriti Irani.
The Congress national secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, will also accompany Rahul to Amethi, according to the party.
“All arrangements for Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Naya Yatra’ are complete. Rahul Gandhi will be greeted first in Kakwa. His Nyay Yatra would visit Amethi from Rampur Khas assembly constituency in Pratapgarh district,” said Anil Singh, media coordinator for the Congress’ Amethi district unit.
In response to his yatra, Uttar Pradesh Minister Daya Shankar Singh stated that the Congress had conceded defeat in Uttar Pradesh.
“Rahul Gandhi has nothing left in Uttar Pradesh anymore. Sonia Gandhi held the Raebareli seat, but she left to join the Rajya Sabha. So, it appears they have conceded defeat even before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections,” he remarked.
