Mithun Chakraborty’s health: The renowned actor is being treated at a private hospital in Kolkata after suffering serious chest trouble, according to reports.
Mithun Chakraborty, a veteran actor, was rushed to a Kolkata hospital after suffering of chest trouble on Saturday morning. According to a report by India Today, people close to the actor indicated that he was feeling uneasy, so he was rushed to the hospital and is now having treatment.
Mithun Chakraborty’s family has yet to confirm.
The actor’s family has yet to respond to allegations of his hospitalisation, and the hospital has not published a statement. Mithun, who was last seen as a judge on the dance reality show Dance Bangla Dance alongside Mouni Roy, Subhashree Ganguly, Srabanti Chatterjee, and Puja Banerjee, was awarded the Padma Bhushan in January 2024.

In an interview with ETimes last month, Mithun Chakraborty’s son, actor Mimoh Chakraborty, expressed his feelings of excitement over Mithun’s Padma Bhushan, saying, “I have no words to describe this feeling of ecstasy and joy. It is an honor to experience this moment of pride… Dad is definitely deserving of this medal, and I am grateful to our government and institutions for recognizing him with this great accolade. I am grateful and filled with joy right now. Touchwood.”
Mithun Chakraborty, who has appeared in about 350 films in Hindi, Bengali, Odia, Bhojpuri, and Tamil, among other Indian languages, commented that he could not believe he had been granted the Padma Bhushan.
In a video message shared last month, the 73-year-old actor, who made his playing debut in Mrinal Sen’s Mrigaya and has had a career spanning roughly five decades, said, “After a lot of hardship and hard work, I have finally earned such an accolade… It’s a feeling I can’t describe. I’m dedicated this to all of my followers in India and worldwide, who have shown me unconditional love.”
Mithun is one of the 17 Padma Bhushan awardees this year.
