Sandeep Reddy Vanga, an elugu director, has expanded his wings to Hindi films with Kabir Singh. Vanga’s second major Hindi film, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, Tripti Dimri, and Shakti Kapoor, is released in 2023. Since then, the director has dominated headlines for a variety of reasons. While some criticized Animal for being misogynistic and gory, a subset of fans is ecstatic with Vanga’s popularity.
Amidst the exuberance around the film, Sandeep Reddy Vanga was recently mobbed by a sea of fans in Dallas, the US. A video, shared by a celebrity journalist, is now widely circulated on social media wherein Vanga can be seen stuck in the parking area as his fans couldn’t keep calm after spotting him. The video also shows his fans loudly chanting his name.
Animal and Sandeep Reddy Vanga have recently received praise from notable filmmakers such as Anurag Kashyap and Ram Gopal Varma. In response to the argument over misogyny in the film, Kashyap said News18, “Nobody has the right to tell a filmmaker what kind of films they should and shouldn’t make.” Films can easily upset people in this country. They are also offended by my flicks. But I don’t expect educated people to be easily offended.”
When Ram Gopal Varma praised Sandeep Reddy Vanga, he took to X and applauded the filmmaker. “. @imvangasandeep a qualified doctor in PHYSIOTHERAPY is now using ANIMAL to do MENTAL THERAPY to the film industry,” he posted, tagging Vanga.
On the other hand, Congress MP Ranjeet Ranjan chastised the Censor Board for approving’such’ a film. She further said that her daughter and her friends left the movie halfway through and went home in tears.
