Vir Das, a stand-up comedian and actor, just won an International Emmy Award for his Netflix stand-up show Vir Das: Landing. Since winning the prestigious prize, the 41-year-old comedian has received congratulatory messages on social media from all across the world. Meanwhile, Bollywood’s ‘Desi Girl’ Priyanka Chopra Jonas sent Vir a tangible happy card with a bouquet. ”Thank you @priyankachopra for the flowers and for every door you’ve opened for the rest of us,” he tweeted on his X (previously Twitter) account. You’re fantastic.” What drew everyone’s attention, however, was not Priyanka’s gesture, but a grammatical error in the actress’s note.
Priyanka Chopra wrote in her note, ”Dear Vir, Sincere congratulations on your Emmy win! With love, Priyanka, Mary, and your Purple Pebble Pictures colleagues.”
Internet users’ reactions
Soon after Vir uploaded the post, internet users began mocking PeeCee for her grammatical error in the note. ”Congratulations,” one user remarked.
Shouldn’t it be ‘a huge’?” ”Lovely gift, but who writes AN HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!?” said another person. Are you certain this was sent by ‘Priyanka Chopra’? Not some clickbait troll?” ”I’m astonished at such a glaring grammatical problem,” said a third user. It definitely makes one wonder whether this was written by Priyanka.”
