Zoya Akhtar has always been excellent at articulating and putting her thoughts into words. She just broke her silence about the cast of The Archies. The director, who is preparing to release her picture, stated that it is a media problem, not theirs. When asked if she drew Suhana Khan and the other two star kids in the film for their brand names in a new interview with Film Companion, Zoya shot back and gave the media a taste of their own medicine. Zoya chose to end the nepotism blame game by questioning the media for focusing solely on the three-star kids and ignoring the other ‘outsider’ performers.

What did Zoya Akhtar have to say?
Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, and Khushi Kapoor star in the key roles of The Archies. Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, Dot, and Yuvraj Menda will make their acting debuts, as will four other actors. Speaking on the same, director Zoya Akhtar stated that the creators included seven faces on the posters, but the media decided to focus on only three. Worse, the media then turns around and puts the manufacturers on the spot, questioning them about nepotism. “In fact, you’re the one who isn’t paying attention to the other four. You’ve just dismissed four. And you took away their opportunity. It is horrible to witness. I’m truly sorry. “It’s your problem,” Zoya added.

Reema Kagti, the film’s co-creator, also didn’t hold back and stated that she was frequently asked about three starkids, despite the fact that the picture features seven children. Do you know what the other four people’s names are? ‘Did you take the time to look at them?’ Kagti stated. She went on to say that as producers, they are very excited for all of them and even feel sorry for the other four performers.

The Archies will be available on Netflix on December 7, 2023.
