He unsettled the reigning champion, Captain America celebrity Chris Evans, by taking his place. The 57-year-old actor said to People after taking home the title, “I’m glad it’s happening at this point in my life.” Although receiving accolades makes my ego slightly larger, it’s still pleasant to have and provides me a chance to put it to good use.
He went so far as to say that he was “completely shocked” and assumed the news was a prank. He joked, “I’ve always been the bridesmaid.”
People magazine even announced the 2023 “Sexiest Man Alive” on social media, with the message, “#PatrickDempsey has been crowned PEOPLE’s 2023 #SexiestManAlive.”

The actor is wed to Jillian Fink, a makeup artist and creator of a cosmetics line.
