On Sunday, three police officers were seen on camera tossing the body parts of a traffic accident victim into a canal close to the Bihar district of Muzaffarpur.
The event, which was caught on tape and went viral on social media, involved three Bihar Police officers disposing of the body of a person who had died in a road accident into a canal close to the Muzaffarpur district on Sunday.
Police confirmed the accuracy of the footage by stating that the incident took place close to the Dhodhi Canal Bridge in the Fakuli Outpost area of Muzaffarpur district.
“It was a regrettable situation, and the police officers who were on the scene did not appropriately discharge their duties. Two on-duty home guard jawans’ contracts have been terminated, while the involved driver constable has been suspended, according to a statement from the senior superintendent of police (SSP), Muzaffarpur.

The victim’s identification has not yet been determined. However, the statement stated that some of the victim’s body parts that might be salvaged were sent for a postmortem examination.

On its social media channel on X, the Muzaffarpur Police also provided clarification regarding the incident. The victim’s death was reported as the consequence of a traffic accident, according to the police. Certain human remains and clothing could not be recovered due to the accident’s severity. As a result, a nearby canal was used to dispose of these remains.
A witness who saw the incident on tape saw two officers dragging the victim’s bloody body while a third officer assisted them. They were also observed pushing the body into the canal with their batons.
