4 October 2023 ( New Delhi ) : The Opposition has referred to Maharashtra’s deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar’s absence from the cabinet meeting on Tuesday and his refusal to travel to Delhi with the chief minister and deputy chief minister, Eknath Shinde, as a “political illness” that could topple the government.
“Ajit Pawar appears to have a political sickness…According to opposition leader Vijay Wadettiwar, he is allegedly angry with the delay in the appointment of district guardian ministers. A few Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) ministers have been in the Shinde-Fadnavis cabinet for months, but they have not yet been given duties as district guardian ministers. Just three months after the triple engine administration took office, NCP MP Supriya Sule declared, “I have heard that one faction is upset.” “I heard that the unhappy faction met with Fadnavis and expressed their displeasure to him. The honeymoon hasn’t even ended yet after three months, yet issues have already begun to surface. Such news is emerging in just three months…She questioned, “Who is running the government?
Ajit Pawar did not attend the cabinet meeting, according to Shinde, because he was ill, despite rumors that things are not going well for the ruling coalition. Shinde, who departed for Delhi on Tuesday evening with Fadnavis, stated that “there is no need to draw any other conclusion.” Ajit Pawar faction member and NCP minister Chhagan Bhujbal stated, “Ajit dada had a throat problem and couldn’t go to Delhi. When the cabinet met today (Tuesday), we learned that he wasn’t feeling well. How will Ajit dada go to Delhi if he couldn’t travel from his home to the cabinet meeting?
When asked if Ajit Pawar had a “political illness,” Bhujbal responded, “Never.”
Ajit Pawar has a throat illness, according to NCP spokesperson Sanjay Tatkare, who also told The Indian Express. He is unable to speak, and he also has a slight fever. He said, “He is resting at home. Ajit Pawar is dissatisfied, according to NCP sources, because his request to nominate some of his ministers as district guardian ministers is still unresolved. He has asked for the post of district guardian minister for Aditi Tatkare (Raigad), Hasan Mushrif (Kolhapur), Dhananjay Munde (Beed), and Chhagan Bhujbal (Nashik). Additionally pushing for Satara’s district guardianship is the Ajit Pawar group. Shinde Sena ministers serve as the watchmen of Satara and Raigad, respectively. In actuality, Satara and Thane’s minister is Shambhuraj Desai. We’re asking for Satara…Uday Samant, a Shinde Sena minister, is the guardian minister of Raigad. For Tatkare, we are looking for Raigad,” he declared. Another group in favor of Satara’s district guardianship is the Ajit Pawar faction. Shinde Sena ministers serve as the watchmen of Satara and Raigad, respectively. In reality, Satara and Thane’s minister is Shambhuraj Desai. We are asking for Satara. Uday Samant, a member of the Shinde Sena, is the guardian minister of Raigad. For Tatkare, we’re looking for Raigad,” he declared.
