20 September 2023 ( New Delhi) : According to the lawsuit, the vendor went to repay a portion of a business loan he took last month and asked the lender for extra time to settle the remainder. Two persons allegedly battered and displayed the vegetable vendor naked in a market in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida for non-payment of a portion of a loan. A video of the incident was extensively posted on social media, showing the seller being forced to strip naked and go through the market.

The video clip was also published by the UP section of Congress, who claimed the victim was a garlic vendor. The obscenity was heard being yelled at the vendor in the video. He was compelled to wander around the market naked.

According to a top police officer, the vendor took out a 5,600 loan nearly a month ago and went to repay a portion of it on Monday. He asked the lender for more time to repay the outstanding balance.”However, the commission agent (lender) dispatched his accountant as well as two laborers to the shop.” “They held me inside the shop and stripped me naked before assaulting me with sticks and hurling abuse at me,” the vendor claimed in the police report.

According to Rajiv Dixit, Additional DCP (Central Noida), a FIR has been filed at the local Phase 2 police station under IPC sections 323, 342, 357, 504, 506 and Section 66E of the Information Technology Act.

“The main accused, Sundar Singh, and his aide Bhagandas Singh, have been arrested.” Those who have fled will be apprehended soon, and the strongest legal action will be taken against them,” Dixit stated.
