13 September 2023 ( New Delhi ) : According to a survivor, the bus driver and some passengers were standing behind the bus when the fast truck rammed into it. Bharatpur: A truck rammed into a bus on a National Highway stretch in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur, killing at least 11 persons and injuring 12 more. The bus was traveling from Rajasthan’s Pushkar to Uttar Pradesh’s Vrindavan when the accident occurred at 4.30 a.m., according to authorities.
The event happened after the bus broke down on a bridge. According to one survivor, the bus driver and some passengers were standing behind the bus when the fast truck rammed into it.
When the vehicle rammed into the bus from behind, it had stopped at Antra flyover in the Lakhanpur district after running out of petrol. According to officials, five males and six women perished on the spot. The bus was parked on the highway while it was being repaired. “Some passengers were on board the bus, while others were standing outside when the collision occurred,” said Mridul Kachawa, Superintendent of Police (SP), Bharatpur.
Police have opened an investigation into the collision. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed his sympathies to the families of those who killed in the event.
“The death of 11 people in a collision in Bharatpur between a bus from Gujarat and a trailer is extremely sad.” The police administration is on the scene, and the injured have been taken to the hospital. I beseech God to grant peace to the spirits of all those who have died and courage to their families. “May God grant all those injured a speedy recovery,” Mr Gehlot wrote in a tweet.
