According to Rishi Sunak, “We will also work closely with India through their Presidency of the G20 to address the biggest challenges the world is facing.”

According to UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who praised Narendra Modi’s leadership over the past year, India is the “right country” at the “right time” to host the G20 presidency due to its diversity and amazing triumphs. Just days before the G20 summit on September 9-10, the UK PM told PTI news agency that the world is now experiencing numerous challenges. India is currently holding the rotating presidency of the bloc.

The relationship between the UK and India will define the future of the two countries even more than it is defining the present, according to Rishi Sunak, the first prime minister of the UK of Indian descent.

“Due to India’s size, diversity, and outstanding achievements, it is the appropriate nation at the right moment to preside over the G20. It’s amazing to see India demonstrating such global leadership, and I commend Prime Minister Modi for his leadership over the past year, said Rishi Sunak.

In order to confront the greatest challenges the world is currently facing, from addressing climate change to stabilizing the global economy, “We will also work closely with India through their Presidency of the G20,” he added.

Regarding Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine, Rishi Sunak warned that it would have “terrible consequences” for the entire world if Vladimir Putin was permitted to invade a sovereign neighbor at will.

“Our people define and propel us as two of the world’s great democracies. The UK is concentrating on helping Ukraine to defend itself and stop this unlawful and unprovoked Russian invasion because of this, he said, adding, “As a free and democratic country, Ukraine has the right to decide its own destiny. It will be disastrous for the entire globe if Putin is permitted to invade a sovereign neighbor with impunity. The Ukrainian people desire peace more than anyone, yet Putin has the ability to end this conflict tomorrow by pulling out his forces.
