The capital of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal, may host the next gathering of INDIA, the coalition of opposition parties, in early October. After the first united public rally of the leaders of various opposition parties, this meeting will take place. After two months, the state will have its legislative elections.
This information was provided by PTI, which cited sources. According to sources, the possibility of conducting the next conference was addressed during a recent meeting of opposition groups in Mumbai. A meeting in Bhopal was agreed upon, but no date was set. Furthermore, its modalities were not figured out.
According to sources, the opposition leaders have also kept Delhi as an option for the next opposition coalition gathering. The date, however, had not been confirmed. INDIA, on the other hand, is planning to hold joint rallies against the NDA in several locations as the polls near.
The INDIA alliance has already met in Patna, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. Five committees, including Coordination and Campaign, were constituted at the third conference, which was held in Mumbai on the 31st of August and 1st of September. The meeting did not allow for the completion of the logo. A design was liked by several parties, and several improvements were suggested.
The 14-member committee includes one Chief Minister, one Deputy Chief Minister, and two past Chief Ministers.
The opposition committee now includes one chief minister, one deputy chief minister, two previous chief ministers, five Rajya Sabha MPs, and two Lok Sabha MPs. Two more Left-wing leaders have also been added to the committee.
In the committee are the chief ministers of Jharkhand (Hemant Soren, JMM), and Bihar (Tejashwi Yadav, RJD). There have been two former chief ministers of Jammu and Kashmir: Mehbooba Mufti (PDP) and Omar Abdullah (NC).
The five Rajya Sabha members are Javed Ali Khan (SP), Sanjay Raut (Shiv Sena UBT), Sharad Pawar (NCP), and KC Venugopal (Congress).
Lalan Singh (JDU) and Abhishek Banerjee (TMC), both members of the Lok Sabha. D Raja (CPI) and one CPI (M) member. The CPI(M) member’s name has not been made public.
Three proposals were approved during the meeting.
- We are determined to fight the next Lok Sabha elections as a united front as feasible. The seat-sharing rrangement in the states will be implemented immediately.
- Will hold public rallies on issues of public concern and relevance as soon as possible across the country.
- Publicity and media strategies in several languages would be developed with the theme “India will win.”
