Former cricketer and BJP MP Gautam Gambhir claimed, “Some fans of Pakistan were raising anti-India slogans in the crowd, which is why I reacted like that (showing middle finger) to the spectators sitting in the field.” I won’t laugh off any personal abuse directed at me.
Actually, on Monday, a video of Gambhir appeared on social media. In this, he may be seen giving the Asia Cup spectators the middle finger. Gambhir commented on this, telling the news agency ANI that not everything posted on social media must be accurate.
I won’t listen to anything that is critical of my country.
According to Gautam Gambhir, there were one to three Pakistani supporters seated among the throng who were yelling anti-Indian sentiments. Fans from Pakistan also commented on Kashmir. I cannot watch all of this against my nation as an Indian.
I am not going to let someone laughing if they abuse me.
The truth is that if you shout “Down with India” or make comments about Kashmir, the person will retaliate in some way, continued Gambhir. I’m not one of those folks who will shrug it off if you say something bad about the nation or even insult me personally.
Simply said, I want to tell individuals who raise slogans to come watch the game and support their team. There is no requirement to respond politically.
What was in the video?
Gautam Gambhir is currently a part of the commentary team for the official broadcasters in the Asia Cup. A video of him walking out of the field after the commentary surfaced on social media. In this video, he was seen showing middle finger to the audience while talking on mobile.
The middle finger is usually used to humiliate someone. The noise of ‘Kohli-Kohli’ can also be heard in this video. But Gambhir said that not everything is true on social media.
