22 August 2023 ( New Delhi ) : The wife of the accused was taken into judicial custody on Tuesday in the most recent development in the case involving the rape of a minor by a Delhi government official.
Premoday Khakha was placed on administrative leave from his position as deputy director of the Department of Women and Child Development by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejiwal.
According to the authorities, Khakha and his wife Seema Rani dwell in the Shakti Enclave neighborhood in the Burari region. After her father died on October 1, 2020, the victim was staying at their house with a family acquaintance who she refers to as “mama,” according to the police.When the young girl allegedly became pregnant, she allegedly told the accused’s wife, who then requested her son to obtain the girl some pills to end the pregnancy and handed them to the girl.
When she came to meet her in January 2021, the girl went back home with her mother. The girl, who is now in Class 12, had an anxiety attack in August of this year, and her mother took her to the hospital. During the counseling session, the girl, who is now in Class 12, described the entire episode.
The girl was reportedly sexually assaulted multiple times by the suspect, an ex-cadre officer, between November 2020 and January 2021. According to the police report, his wife has also been accused of giving the girl drugs to end her pregnancy. olice said the case was registered under Indian Penal Code sections 376(2)(f)(being a relative, guardian or teacher of, or a person in a position of trust or authority towards the woman, commits rape on such woman), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to outrage the modesty of a woman), 506 (criminal intimidation), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 313 (causing miscarriage without women’s consent), 120B ((criminal conspiracy) and provisions of the POCSO Act.
