Thailand Shooting : According to a police spokesperson, authorities were taking control of the situation.
Three people were injured in a shooting at a major Bangkok shopping mall on Tuesday, according to Thailand’s prime minister. He was informed that the shooter had been apprehended. Thailand police arrived at the major Bangkok mall after hearing reports of guns fired inside.
People, including children, were seen sprinting out of the doors of the Siam Paragon mall as security personnel hustled them out in videos widely circulated on social media. The videos’ truthfulness could not be independently verified by Hindustan Times.
Sounds similar to gunfire were heard inside the mall, according to local station Channel 3. Thailand Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin stated he was waiting for more information about the incident.
The incident comes only days before the one-year anniversary of one of Thailand’s bloodiest days, when an ex-police officer armed with a knife and a gun assaulted a nursery, killing 24 children and 12 adults.
