Bollywood actors R Madhavan and Fatima Sana Shaikh are all set to share the screen in their upcoming romantic film “Aap Jaisa Koi,” which is slated for release on Netflix on July 11, 2025. Directed by Vivek Soni and produced by renowned filmmaker Karan Johar, the film promises to be an emotionally touching journey that sheds light on modern-day loneliness and the power of human connection.
In recent promotional interviews, the lead actors spoke candidly about the film’s story and the themes it explores. Madhavan, who plays a Sanskrit professor in the film, described “Aap Jaisa Koi” as a heartfelt portrayal of two individuals from vastly different backgrounds who find solace in each other.
A Story Rooted in Reality
Speaking to ANI, Madhavan highlighted the film’s core message: “In today’s world, loneliness has become one of the biggest silent ailments, despite being surrounded by people and the constant buzz of social media. Our film reflects this truth — that sometimes all it takes to cure loneliness is the presence of someone who truly understands you.”
He added, “Even with a crowd around you, you can feel isolated. In ‘Aap Jaisa Koi,’ we convey that if someone special enters your life, it can heal the pain of loneliness.”

Fatima Sana Shaikh, who portrays a French instructor in the film, shared her experience of working on this emotionally rich project. “When director Vivek approached me with the script, I was immediately drawn to the story. It’s a very heartfelt narrative with beautiful emotions. The film revolves around a man and a woman from different walks of life, each facing their own struggles, who fall in love,” she said.
She also expressed her excitement about working with R Madhavan for the first time. “I’ve always admired his work, and I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to collaborate with him,” Fatima shared.
