Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed the Union Budget 2025 as a transformative budget for the people of India, emphasizing that it addresses the aspirations of 140 crore Indians. Calling it the “People’s Budget,” PM Modi highlighted the significant reforms and initiatives in the budget that will drive India’s development and promote growth across multiple sectors.

In his speech, PM Modi mentioned that the budget is a reflection of the nation’s commitment to fulfilling the dreams of every Indian. He noted that this budget will act as a “Force Multiplier,” accelerating the country’s growth trajectory while boosting savings, investments, and job creation.

Key Highlights of the Budget 2025

  • Reforms and Development Focus
PM Modi pointed out that the Budget 2025 brings significant reforms across various sectors, including a major push for nuclear energy with increased participation from the private sector. This step is expected to make India a global leader in nuclear energy, thereby contributing to the country’s sustainable energy goals.
  • Focus on Jobs and Youth
The Prime Minister emphasized that the budget prioritizes job creation and caters to the aspirations of youth. A variety of new sectors have been opened up for young professionals, which will help drive India’s mission of becoming a developed nation. This focus will not only generate employment but will also empower India’s youth with better opportunities in emerging industries.
  • Increased Emphasis on Citizen Savings
PM Modi highlighted a shift in the focus of the budget, where it does not concentrate on filling the government’s coffers but instead aims to boost the savings of ordinary citizens. The budget introduces measures that will directly contribute to the financial empowerment of Indian citizens, ensuring they benefit from the country’s economic progress.
  • Promotion of Heritage and Legacy
PM Modi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the nation’s heritage, with a special mention of the ‘Gyan Bharat Mission’ that was launched to preserve one crore manuscripts. This initiative highlights the importance of safeguarding India’s rich cultural legacy while promoting national growth.
  • New Age Economy and Financial Inclusion
One of the most noteworthy announcements in the budget is the provision of a two-crore-rupee loan scheme for new entrepreneurs, especially for women and individuals from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). This initiative aims to empower new businesses by removing financial barriers and providing them with the opportunity to grow.

Additionally, the budget also addresses the needs of gig workers. For the first time, gig workers will be registered on the e-Shram portal, enabling them to access healthcare benefits and other social welfare services. This will make gig workers, who have been largely unprotected, part of the formal workforce ecosystem.

Looking Ahead: The Vision for India’s Future
PM Modi stated that this budget aligns with the vision of “Development and Heritage,” ensuring that while the country marches forward in terms of growth, it does not lose sight of its rich cultural roots. The initiatives outlined in the budget will not only facilitate economic growth but also enhance India’s soft power on the global stage.

In conclusion, Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and her team for delivering a forward-thinking budget. He reiterated that the measures introduced in the budget will pave the way for a prosperous and developed India, where every citizen is a stakeholder in the nation’s success.

This budget, he added, is a reflection of the government’s commitment to India’s bright future, ensuring that each Indian’s aspirations are fulfilled.
