Dussehra 2024: On Saturday, Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), conducted Shastra Puja in Nagpur. During his address at the event, he touched upon various topics, including the Israel-Hamas conflict and the tragic case of a doctor in Kolkata who was raped and murdered. The RSS commemorates Vijayadashami with Shastra Puja every year, and this year marks a significant milestone as it is the 100th anniversary of these celebrations, as noted by the RSS chief.

Dussehra 2024: RSS Leader Mohan Bhagwat Speaks at Celebration RSS Leader Mohan Bhagwat addressed the gathering, highlighting the spread of false rumors in Bangladesh portraying India as a threat to its neighbor. He stated, “There is a narrative in Bangladesh suggesting that India poses a danger.” Bhagwat also referenced the tragic RG Kar case, where a postgraduate trainee doctor was brutally raped and murdered on August 9. He remarked, “In the Kolkata doctor’s case, there were attempts to shield the perpetrators; the intertwining of crime, politics, and a toxic culture is detrimental to us.” Additionally, Bhagwat commented on the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict, expressing that the ‘Israel-Hamas war’ has raised significant concerns. The Dussehra celebrations featured former ISRO chief and Padma Bhushan awardee K. Radhakrishnan as the chief guest, with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and former ISRO chief K. Sivan also in attendance.
