Shahdol: The district has been receiving severe rains since last night. As a result, Shahdol’s low-lying neighborhoods have become inundated. Shahdol city has received 146 mm of rain in the last 24 hours. There is mayhem around the city as a result of the severe downpour. Due to heavy rains, Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangu Bhai Patel’s visit has also been canceled. His helicopter couldn’t fly from Umaria, therefore his visit was canceled.

The Shahdol-Umaria road has been closed owing to heavy rainfall. The Murna River, located on National Highway 43, has been flooded. As a result, there is heavy traffic on both sides of the road. The route leading from Shahdol to Dindori has also been closed. Due to the flood in the Ponda drain on Dindori Road, there is a long queue of vehicles on both sides of the road. Due to heavy rains, numerous communities in the district have lost touch with Shahdol headquarters.

Shahdol railway station became inundated as a result of the severe rainfall. The railroads were immersed in water. The railway track was inundated in water, affecting many trains. The Shahdol Nagpur train, which started for Nagpur at 5:00 a.m., arrived almost 2 hours later than anticipated. Aside from that, numerous trains are running later than expected.

Due to the severe rains, the Shahdol Collector has declared a holiday in all government and non-government schools in Shahdol district from classes 1st to 8th on August 24th. Shahdol Collector Kedar Singh has issued an appeal to the public, claiming that the district’s rivers and streams had flooded as a result of severe rainfall. In such cases, do not cross rivers or streams.
