16 August 2023 ( New Delhi) : After a viral video supposedly showing him in uniform brutally hitting a guy on the road, the Ghaziabad police on Wednesday suspended him and filed a complaint against him, according to officials. Rinku Rajaura, a police officer assigned to the Madhuban Bapudham police station in the Ghaziabad district, has been named as the culprit. On Tuesday, Rajaura was allegedly observed attacking the man in front of witnesses, according to the police.
Abhishek Srivastava, ACP Kavinagar, Ghaziabad, stated that the victim “could not be identified yet, we are looking for him,” adding that a departmental probe will be launched into the alleged occurrence.
“A police officer is seen bashing a person in a viral video that went viral on social media. The incident is connected to the vicinity of the Kavi Nagar police station, it was discovered after reviewing the aforementioned footage. A case has been filed in accordance with the pertinent sections. According to the video, Rinku Rajoura has been suspended, according to Srivastava.
The police officer was charged with criminal intimidation and voluntarily causing harm under sections 323 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code, respectively.“During the initial inquiry, the constable told the police that the man had roughed up someone he knew, and hence he thrashed him.
