The extreme heat and humidity in various regions of Gujarat is worsening the problem. The highest recorded temperature in the country was 47.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday at Sirsa, Haryana.

The majority of India is currently facing intense heat waves. For the past five days, a terrible heat wave has engulfed the plains of North India. According to the Meteorological Department, there won’t be a possibility of reprieve from the heat in the upcoming days. For the next five days, there is a red alert for a heat wave issued by the Meteorological Department. A red alert has been issued for the following states: Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, and North West Madhya Pradesh.

The Meteorological Department stated that due to the heat, aged, young, and ill individuals need to be provided extra care. Even in the lower hilly areas, there will be extreme heat. In many parts of the nation, Tuesday’s high hit over 45 degrees Celsius. Numerous regions of Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh are among them. Normal life suffered greatly in these locations by the heat. The intense heat and humidity in numerous regions of Gujarat are making the situation more hazardous. Although the temperature in Delhi on Tuesday saw some relief, it is still three to five degrees Celsius over average. Delhi’s electricity demand has risen because of the heat. Delhi’s electrical usage reached a record 7,717 MW on Tuesday, and in the next several days, it is expected to surpass 8200 MW. The sixth round of voting has been set for May 25 in Delhi. People have asked the Election Commission in this regard, alleging that during voting there ought to be provisions for fans, coolers, and cold water at the polling places.
