Ashutosh Rana was recently the victim of a deepfake in which he was portrayed as supporting a political party. Previously, several actors had been subjected to such phony videos.
Deepfakes are an increasing threat in the online realm, affecting even public people. The misuse of digital technology has resulted in the development of numerous altered audio and video clips featuring Bollywood celebrities. Ashutosh Rana recently had to clarify his views on a bogus viral video in which he was seen supporting a political party. Many other performers have been targeted by deepfake films during election campaigns, and their validity has been called into question.
Aamir Khan : In a deepfake video, Aamir Khan cautioned viewers against “jumla.” The actor stated, “There are two types of guarantees in these elections – good and bad,” in the widely shared video. The unfortunate news is that slogan promises, or “jumle waade,” have been made once more with the intent to damage your life. However, there are ‘5 Nyay’ (five justices) for your improvement this time, which is wonderful news. ‘Vote for Nyay, Vote for Congress’ was displayed next to the Congress party’s logo as the video came to a conclusion. The edited footage was taken from an episode of Aamir’s social awareness program, Satyamev Jayate, that aired ten years ago.Aamir’s team later issued a statement over the false video, saying, “We want to clarify that Mr. Aamir Khan has never endorsed any political party in his 35-year career. He has committed his efforts to raise awareness through Election Commission public awareness programs in several previous elections. We are worried by a new viral video claiming that Aamir Khan is promoting a specific political party. He would want to emphasize that this is a hoax video that is completely false. He has reported the problem to the relevant authorities, including filing a FIR with the Mumbai Police Cyber Crime Cell.”
Ashutosh Rana : Ashuotsh Rana had to provide a thorough statement on the deepfake video showing him supporting BJP. He stated in an interview with India Today: “This isn’t anything new. This is ‘Maya Yudh’, and we’ve been fighting it since the Ramayana. Remember how, during the struggle between Laxman and Meghnath, the former witnessed numerous versions of Ravana’s son? This has existed for a long time, but we are only now becoming aware of it. One should be wary about how things may turn out. However, individuals who know you will never doubt you. And those who do will never be satisfied by your response. They’ve already built an image in their minds, and nothing you do will matter to them.” Ashutosh discussed how AI can lead to “character assassination” in today’s world.
Ranveer Singh : Ranveer Singh recently went to Varanasi to encourage Indian artisans. During his visit, an AI-powered technology was employed to generate audio. Ranveer was seen criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi for unemployment and inflation in a faked video footage that went viral. The phony recording finished with the star encouraging his admirers to vote for Congress.Ranveer immediately responded to the deepfake video. His team acknowledged that they had filed a police report and a FIR against the account that was promoting Ranveer’s AI-generated deepfake video. According to NDTV, the actor’s representative stated, “Yes, we have filed a police complaint and a FIR has been lodged against the handle that was promoting the AI-generated deepfake video of Ranveer Singh.”
Allu Arjun : The false video of Allu Arjun caused quite a stir on social media. The actor and his wife, Sneha Reddy, were shown standing in an open-top automobile. While posting the video, the caption stated, “Allu Arjun is fighting for the honor of Congress.”It was then revealed that the footage was from the 2022 India Day Parade in New York, where Allu Arjun represented India.
