Police initiate an investigation after bomb threat emails were sent to numerous sites in Bengaluru.

On Friday evening, the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum in Bengaluru received a bomb threat via email, and the management immediately closed the museum after contacting the police. The threat email was also received to the city’s National Gallery of Modern Art and Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium, in addition to the museum.

The Bengaluru police arrived at the places with the bomb squad on Friday evening and discovered nothing unusual. The e-mails are said to be hoaxes and threats, and the police are investigating them.

According to sources, the bogus threat was sent from the ID ‘Morgue999lol’ from the terror organization ‘Terrorizers 111’. Separate FIRs have been registered at the police stations of Cubbon Park, High Grounds, and Vidhana Soudha.

More than 50 schools in Bengaluru received separate bomb threats via email in December. All students in schools were evacuated, causing consternation among students, teachers, and parents.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has directed the police to thoroughly probe the e-mail and its source. As a precaution, he also requested that schools and temples be secured.

G Parameshwara, Karnataka’s home minister, said the message came from the email address kharijites@beeble.com. According to the email, 15 schools had bombs on their grounds.

“We will investigate who is behind it and whether any terrorist organizations are involved, and we will take appropriate action.” For the time being, it is unknown who is behind it. “The email message asks people to convert and other things, and it will be verified,” he later told reporters.
